Before starting with Matt at 5G Fitness LLC 2 years ago on December 26, 2023, I had never lifted weights before or even wanted to. Listening to a few of my lady friends at my Pilates class, they were constantly talking about lifting weights with Matt and what a difference it had made. So I decided to give it a try. My 3 daughters were always telling me I needed to lift weights too, but I never listened to them!  2 years later, I have been consistent working out with Matt 2 times a week, sometimes 3 times and have missed a session only a few times. I have seen great results, I am much stronger and actually want to lift weights for the first time in my life!  I have even had a few of my friends join Personal training with Matt this year. I started working out most seriously in my 30’s.  Walking, then weight lifting and then working with a trainer.    Several years ago, I worked with Matt at Anytime Fitness for a short time.  I moved away temporarily and Matt was back to the corporate world. Flash forward to 2023, I saw Matt was now working independently as a fitness trainer and I wanted to get back to having a coach.   I am motivated, but I do so much better when I don’t have to think about my workouts.   Matt was willing to help me get back at it even though I had another obstacle of living in two places  and my calendar had no set schedule.   Matt was still willing to fit me in whenever I was in town.   So, for 3 years now,  I text him when I will be in town and he  gets me in for 2-3 workouts every time.    

Matt has added other components that make working out even better.   One, he has fresh food options to order if you want that meal planning help. I order as I can.   Two, he educates his clients on all things health.   I find his motivational talks most helpful.   He does say that it’s the food that makes the biggest impact on weight loss.  And, he’s willing to help with meal planning.  

Most recently, I had my bone density tested as now I’m 65.    It was normal!    I attribute it in part to my strength training with Matt! This coming year I need to increase my muscle mass and reduce the fat mass just a bit.   I know Matt will help me do the work!  

Lastly, Matt builds community among his clients.   He cares about every one!

At 61 I knew I needed to do something before my weight got completely out of control. I wasn’t obese, but wasn’t exactly healthy either. I started strength training 3 days a week for 1/2 hour with Matt in November 2021. Best decision I have ever made. Lost 30 pounds and dropped from a size 8 to a 2 or 4 depending on brand. At almost 66 I now train for an hour, 3 days a week with my 5 am Squad. I can’t imagine my life without this group. They are now my 2nd family. In October 2022, I met Matt while he was in the process of building the facility he uses for 5G Fitness. When I found out he was a personal trainer and building his own private gym I was intrigued. I did some investigating and saw that his clients were getting impressive results. I met Matt for an assessment and began training a few days later. At age 53, I was considered morbidly obese with high blood pressure and high homocystiene levels. I was very ashamed of how I looked and felt even worse physically. The first weigh in was humiliating. The first few training sessions were humbling. I trained twice a week, eventually three times a week and then became a member of the 4AM Crew in March 2025, training five days a week.

Training with Matt not only changed my life but saved it. I lost 75 pounds and gained strength, but more importantly I gained confidence in myself. The first year with Matt I would not enter the gym if there was another client in there - I was that ashamed of myself. Now I look forward to working out with several of Matt's other clients and they have become like family.

Matt believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, and has made a lasting impact on my life. Taking a chance on Matt (and myself!) has been one of the best decisions of my life!
